The Christian Collection of Croatians in Hungary, Peresznye
Hundreds of Christian artifacts and a collection of ethnographic relics related to the Croatians of Gradiste.
Peresznye is inhabited by Croatians from Gradiste (castle / Burgenland). The residential building at 19 Hunyadi János Street and the collection of church books and objects collected there since 1958 were donated to the National Croatian Local Government by the parish priest István Dumovits. At the exhibition, visitors can see cultural and historical monuments that are significant and important for Croatians in Hungary, a collection of 2,500 books in Croatian and 242 memorabilia. The religious relics of the collection are closely connected with the lives of Croats in Hungary, as they have lived and preserved their language and national self-awareness through their religion and cult of Mary to this day.
